Email: Fox [AT] OBTOTech [dot] com

Hey my name's David Fox and I'm the CEO and Founder of OBTO Tech. I'm a huge computer geek and avid gamer who loves working in Flash, PHP, C++ and learning tons of other languages like Ruby and Python. I've been programming and working with computers since I was around 6 years old and I don't plan to stop any time soon.

I've really enjoyed working with all the amazing speakers and sponsors in this event. It's been like a dream come true talking with these guys. And I hope you'll enjoy this project as much as I did making it.

So a lot of people have asked me how I came up with Flash Mindmeld, so I'll take a sec to answer the question.

When you're a developer in things like C++, PHP, HTML/CSS or Flash you tend to have specific developers you look up to for advice and inspiration. Well, with the success of Flash games and their incredible growth, the distance between a fresh aspiring developer (like me) and their "developer heroes" seems really distant. I wanted to close this gap in the community by reaching out to 60 of the top Flash gurus in the world so all us developers could get a "mindmeld" moment (yes I do like Star Trek haha) with their heroes... just a tip or word of wisdom on how to improve our games.

Through this project I hope to not only answer some aspiring developers' questions, but also help all developers from around the world benefit from these amazing tips to create even better Flash games. And when you publish your new games, shoot me an email, I'd love to play them :)

Special Thanks:

Brad Borne - Helped get my project from an idea to what it is now and was the first confirmed speaker in the event. He's one of the most amazing and passionate game developers I've ever met and an all around great guy.

Tom and Dim Vian: These guys produced the first games and animations that got me into Flash. Without them, I may have never discovered Flash. Thanks guys!

Colin Cupp and Ada Chen from Mochi Media/Flash game Summit - Showed interest in my project when it was in it's earliest stages of creation. They helped me connect with several people and were key people in making this happen.

Chris Hughes - A guy with a great sense of humor, mad guitar skills and really good advice

Dan McNeely - When I talked with him about Flash Mindmeld Dan was really enthusiastic and loved the idea. He was my first sponsor which allowed me to get Flash Mindmeld off the ground.

Adam Saltsman - This one man is not only one of the speakers in Flash Mindmeld, but helped me recruit around 10 of the other speakers in this event. Thanks man!

To all the sponsors and speakers of Flash Mindmeld, I thank you for supporting and speaking in Flash Mindmeld and making this all possible.

And last, but not least, I'd like to thank my Dad for his terrific advice and experience which helped shape Flash Mindmeld into what it is right now.

Now for some fun stats about what it took to create Flash Mindmeld:
The songs that kept me sane: Jimmy Eat World - My Best Theory, Doves - Words, Beetles - Here Comes The Sun
The games that sucked up my time: Minecraft and Super Meat Boy (Go play them now!!)
Number of Coca Cola cans consumed: Probably more than 20
Number of emails sent: ~624
